Image Capture Disclaimer
GHIC respects the rights of its members and visitors to the church, or individuals and groups, who are visited by the GHIC’s representatives, should not be jeopardised by any church activity. GHIC further recognises its responsibilities towards children and young people.
Images may be captured during events organised and hosted by the GHIC using film photography, digital photography, video or other medium and may be used on our website, church magazine, bulletin, brochure/tracts, flyers/leaflets and other publicity material (such as internal and external newsletters). It may be provided to the media for publication in local or national newspapers or community magazines. The church acknowledges its responsibilities in capturing images by photography or other means under the provisions of the following legislation.
The Protection of Children Act 1978: The church recognises that it is a criminal offence to take, permit to be taken, distribute, have in one’s possession or publish indecent photographs (including films and other imagery) of children.
The Human Rights Act 1998: The church recognises an individual’s rights to privacy as protected by this Act.
The Data Protection Act 1998: The church undertakes to inform all those whose images may be recorded (or their parents/guardians if under 18 years of age) of the purposes for which the images may be used by the church.
In this context the church informs all persons taking part in church activities that they may be photographed, filmed, videoed or otherwise captured in image form. Where possible and practical to do so, the church seeks written consent to image capture. Where this is not possible for practical reasons, unless express objections are received, individuals attending an event at GHIC are deemed to have given their consent by attending or remaining at the event. It is our promise not to use any of these captured images for any other purpose other than that stated above. We do not sell or pass them on to third parties.
